Why Heart Rate Readings may pause when using Myzone Go
Your smart watch may occasionally miss heart rate readings when it can’t get a clear signal, such as during movement, workouts, or if the fit isn’t ideal. This is normal and does not usually indicate a problem with the device.
Myzone go measures your heart rate using the optical sensors in your smart watch. (green LEDs that detect blood flow). Even under ideal conditions, it can’t always get a reliable reading for everyone, every time
However, follow these top tips to ensure the best experience
1. Movement and arm motion
- Running, lifting weights, cycling on rough roads, or sudden wrist movement can disrupt the signal
- The watch may pause recording until it gets a clean reading again
2. Fit of the watch
- Too loose → sensor loses skin contact
- Too tight → restricts blood flow
3. Sweat, moisture, or dirt
- Sweat can scatter the sensor light
- Sunscreen, lotion, or grime on the back of the watch can interfere
4. Cold skin or poor circulation
- Cold weather reduces blood flow near the skin
- This makes optical readings harder to capture
5. Tattoos or darker ink under the sensor
- Some tattoo pigments block the sensor light
- This can cause frequent or consistent measurement
6. Power or privacy settings
- Low Power Mode or Power saving modes disable background heart‑rate tracking
- Heart Rate permissions or Wrist Detection being off can also cause interruptions
